The market is taken. The niche is open.

The market is taken. The niche is open.

The market for AI in travel is now taken. From the outside.

Not by a forecast. By a launch.

Last week a Swiss platform provider took its AI agent layer for tour operators live. Around 74 employees, eight funding rounds, a travel group as its reference customer across every source market.

That settles the question investors have been asking me for months: does this market even exist?

Yes. And it is being divided up now.

Just not everywhere at once.

This provider sells to companies with their own IT department, a tender process and a budget cycle. Its reference list does not include a single owner-led travel agency.

That is not an oversight. It is sales economics. An agency with four employees cannot carry enterprise sales.

That exact segment is our entire target market.

The difference is not size. It is a different business:

They deliver agents onto their platform.

We deliver the platform under the agency's own brand.

Anyone investing in a category wants to see two things. That it is real — someone else delivered that proof last week. And that the field is not already taken. In owner-led travel sales across DACH — Germany, Austria and Switzerland — no one is there yet.

This gap will not stay open. It is open because enterprise sales cannot serve it and no one has built for it yet.

I set the consolidation in motion in FinTech. Now I am doing it in travel tech.
